Chicken Soup for the Baby's Soul
As you can see, Justin loved his first "home-cooked" meal! Well, it was partially homecooked, anyway. I invited Maggie and Pop for dinner - I decided to make chicken & wild rice soup, baked up some whole wheat bread in the bread machine, and Chris ran out and got some side salads from a nearby steakhouse. Christopher showed up as well, but he brought his own dinner (sorry Tom & Ali, didn't mean to leave you out!) To make a long story short, I poached the chicken in some broth with some veggies, and before I started making the soup, I took a bit of chicken, carrots, celery, some broth and some water and pureed it, then added apples to it and we gave it to Justin for his first "meat" dinner. He ate the whole thing! See, I'm a good cook. :) It's amazing how fast he is growing - I can't believe more than 10 months have gone by since he was born. He is such a sweet & happy child, and believe me, I know how lucky we are.
It is ridiculously warm out right now, and I almost want to put the air conditioning on. It's almost Thanksgiving! It should not have been in the 70s today. (especially since it was rainy and crappy out). Not really the temperature for soup, but I had all the ingredients, and for some reason in the fall, all I want to do is make soup and bake bread. At least, that started last year. I thought it was just a pregnancy thing, but apparently not. NOT being the important word here, just in case anyone was asking. Maybe by next fall though, who knows?
Oh, for those of you who were wondering, Justin slept great last night and pooped this morning. That was a relief!

I really enjoy reading your Blog, Justin's mom. I was going to suggest that you feed Justin a slider, but it seems that everything has worked itself out for the best.
It's really cold here right now, 39 degrees. Perfect weather for soup. I'm sure this weather will be making its way towards you guys very soon.
