Back from Not-So-Sunny Florida!

My dad took this picture today at their house.

We got back tonight around 9pm from Florida, where we went for a long weekend with Tom & Ali. Ali's mom was throwing her a baby shower down there, so we decided to go down too so I could attend it. She got some really cute stuff - girl clothes are so much more adorable than boy clothes.

Florida was not really all that sunny. Except for today, the day we were leaving. So we sat out by the pool for maybe an hour. But the weather didn't really bother us, since we had lots of stuff to do. Thursday night we went to dinner with Ali's family, which was very nice. Thanks Geri & Kevin for dinner! Friday morning me & Ali went to the spa for facials, manis & pedis. The facial was great. Apparently for my pedicure I had a blind woman painting my nails. She literally painted my entire big toe. So those had to be redone. But it was a nice relaxing morning for the most part. Friday night we all went to the Hard Rock casino for dinner and some gambling. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed that ALL of the slot machines were the new ones that were computer screens, and not the actual spinning wheels. Even though I know all slots are rigged, when it's a computer, I just really feel like there's absolutely no chance of winning. I sat down at a 5 cent Wheel of Fortune machine, and actually did pretty good. I turned my $100 into $175, which is pretty decent for a nickel slot. Too bad Chris lost more than I made. That's okay though. We had a great steak dinner at a nice place with big cushy chairs that even gave us warm scented towels to wipe our hands when we sat down. Fancy schmancy. Saturday was the shower, which was lovely. While Ali was opening presents, Chris and Tommy spent the day at Bass Pro Shops and the Fishing Hall of Fame.

Tonight the plane was packed - Chris and I couldn't sit together, and of course, we both ended up with middle seats. I sat next to a guy who smelled like bad bologna and another guy who picked his nose and rolled the boogs around between his fingers. You think it's gross to read about it? Try sitting there in the tiny plane seat next to him! Yuck! Chris wasn't much luckier - he sat next to a 450 pound guy who couldn't put the armrest down and who took up half of Chris's seat. Not so fun.

Back to the picture of Justin. I missed him soooo much!! Even now I'm still missing him, because he's sleeping and I don't get to hold him or anything. He looks like such a big boy in that picture. And the toy he's holding has become his new favorite thing. I had never actually seen him get frustrated before with anything. But Wednesday night when we dropped him off at my parents, he wouldn't stop playing with it. Sometimes he was able to get the rings on, but sometimes he wasn't, and after a couple of tries he'd yell a bit and throw the rings onto the floor. It was very interesting to watch this behavior. And then when he'd finally get a ring on, he'd look at us so proud. My parents said that he played with it all weekend.

I have to get to bed - I'm exhausted. But first let me announce my friend Abby has started a blog as well - please feel free to visit her blog and read about her adventures in Montana. www.mylifeinthemeantime.blogspot.com.

Good night!
