Birthday Week

I love this picture of us! It is a little dark but look how sweet Justin is looking at the camera. This is when everyone was singing to him...

Yesterday was a fun day - we got a surprise visit for lunch from Ali, Maggie, Cathy, and cousin Evan. We tried to put both boys in the play yard together, but they were having none of that! Unfortunately, Justin has not been around a lot of babies, so he doesn't seem too interested in interacting with them right now. But I'm glad Evan was here yesterday, and then tomorrow we go back to Gymboree, and then Evan is coming back on Thursday to help Justin celebrate his actual birthday. So hopefully by Thursday, after being around kids a couple of times this week, maybe they'll play together. It's still amazing what a difference those 5 months make (their age difference) - just with Evan running around all over the house! Justin's not there yet, but that's okay, because once he's up and walking, I know I'm in trouble! :)

Grampy pointed out to me today that in my last blog post, I wrote that he and Chris were the only two Pats fans in the house, but I left out Grammy and of course Justin. Since I don't pay much attention to football, I have no say in which team my son roots for, so therefore, his dad and grandparents have designated him a Patriots fan. It was funny to think that the last time we watched the Patriots 1st round playoff game, we were in the hospital and Justin was two days old, dressed in a 3-6 month sized Patriots outfit. It was enormous on him, but so cute!

It has been very difficult to get back on track with my diet since the holidays. I have still managed to exercise about 4 days a week, but I really need to get back to 6-7 days a week. And I need to stop having leftovers in my house! Yesterday for lunch it was pizza, caesar salad, and birthday cake. For lunch! At least I went to the gym for an hour last evening, but of course when I came home I ate most of the candy in one of the leftover goodie bags.

Chris is joining me this year - tomorrow he has his first appointment with a personal trainer. With him working out and trying to eat good, I know it will be that much easier for me to do it, too. Once this week is over, we'll really get back on track. Since Thursday is Justin's birthday and we're making dinner here and more birthday cake, that day is out. And we have a holiday party to go to in NYC on Friday night (although I'm not sure what's so "holiday" about the middle of January) and then Saturday we are heading up to Boston - Chris to a bachelor party and me to hang out with some friends from college. So it should be a fun weekend, but not so good for the diet!

Please say a prayer for Will Lacey, the little boy I wrote about a couple of weeks ago. He is going for scans this week to see if his tumors have grown and if any new ones have appeared. So please keep him in your thoughts.

We're thinking about coming up with a contest for money or something with the dieting thing but we haven't really ironed out any details. You guys should join in. So far I'm 2 for 2 with my 90 in 90 and I'm becoming increasingly achier by the second. Fun.

Despite the fact that Justin is wearing a Patriot shirt he looks really cute in that pic!

When Justin and I were outside haging out we were talking some football. Over some scotch and cigars he confided in me that he really is a Giants fan. Smart kid.
