Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda

We went to Gymboree yesterday - our first class since Justin was sick. Guess who was out with the stomach bug? The "teacher"! And the two other registered kids in the class were a no-show, but two other kids came instead. Justin decided he wasn't going to partake in ANY of the gymboree activities yesterday. All he did was play with a ball and throw it around the room. The few times I tried to bring him over to the other kids led to a screaming tantrum, and so I gave up on that pretty quickly and just let him do what he wanted. At 1 year old, I don't feel that allowing him to get his way every once in a while is a big deal. Especially when it prevents a screaming fit in public. Hopefully as the class goes on (it's once a week till April), he'll want to do what the other babies are doing.

This morning he has been busily practicing his walking skills. I saw him take about 6 steps in a row, which is the most so far!

This week has been pretty low-key otherwise. Besides taking care of Justin, going to the gym, and watching tv, the only other activity I've really partaken in is becoming a degenerate gambler on the casino game that Chris gave me for Christmas for my new computer. At first I was mad because I told him that gift wasn't really for me, that I knew he really bought it for himself. But now that I've amassed $15 million from playing blackjack and slots, I have so much money I just don't know what to do with it anymore. Too bad it isn't real!

Speaking of money, this week my husband and I are kicking ourselves (very hard) for a missed opportunity that we should have taken 7.5 years ago. Who knew? Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda is about all we can say. Those are painful words to swallow right about now... But, in the scheme of things, we have great families, a nice home, nice things, and most importantly, can provide for our son and dog. So we're trying hard not to think of those 3 little words and the security they could have provided us for the rest of our lives...

But ANYWAY... On the news earlier this week in NYC, they were telling all residents to not be scared of all the tanks, army gear, and soldiers that they would be seeing downtown this week. They are filming a movie "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. I mean, could you imagine if you didn't know about that and you woke up and looked out your window and saw thousands of army men, tanks, etc. out in the street? Especially in this day and age...Both of my brothers are working as stunt men on the film, which is pretty cool (see their links to the right). I read the book over the summer, and I imagine they are going to be adding a lot to the movie, since I can't really imagine how it would be a huge blockbuster. It's about the last "human" left on earth - everyone else has been turned into vampires. So I'm interested in seeing how it turns out.

That's it for today - have a good day everyone!

I read a write up of that movie recently, it sounds interesting.
If they need any other leads, to co-star with Will Smith or whatever, have your brothers give them my cell or blog.
I can send my extensive resume along
