My Family Room is a Big Play Pen
I miss my family room. On the occasional one day a week when the gates & toys all get put away, I sigh when I see and remember that I actually love the way my family room looks. I think sometime soon we are going to look into having the basement finished, so that I can finally get my family room back. Before Justin was born, I always said, I won't be one of those people that leaves their kids toys out every night, and all the baby stuff that I buy has to match my furniture. HA! That lasted long, let me tell ya!
Justin seems much better today. He still has a cold, but doesn't have that awful raspy congested sound to his breathing anymore. He's walking all over the place, too. He also knows there are certain things he's not supposed to do, like reach over the gates and pull all the dvds out of the rack. And yet, he looks right at me, says "no" and then proceeds to do it anyway, all the while looking at me and saying no, no. How can you not laugh at that?
Yesterday I was supposed to take him to lunch with me - I was meeting my friends Michele and Laurie from my old job. But since he had such a bad cold, Maggie came over to babysit so I could still keep my lunch plans. Michele used to be my boss, and I loved my job during that time. It was a fun place to work, although the company itself has its fair share of completely scandalous office activities - when I used to tell my friends about stuff, they thought I worked on the set of a soap opera instead of for a professional company. I do miss the socialization of working there, but I still keep in touch with all of the friends that I made there. Sometimes I think about getting a part-time job or finding something I can do from home, but I can barely get this blog post finished before I'm chasing after Justin or playing peekaboo with him. So for now my job will continue to be warden of the play pen that used to be my family room.
:)

I love scandalous office activities. SJP Incorporated is no different then anywhere else when it comes to drama and hooking up with secretaries.
