The Crackdown Begins
Yesterday was a fun and exciting day. We made out pretty well with our box pools, won some $$, which is always a good thing! It makes the game a bit more exciting for us non-football fans. In the 4th quarter, all I could do was watch the game clock. The Colts scored that last touchdown and extra point with 11 minutes and 59 seconds to go. And that gave us the right numbers - Colts score ending with 9, Bears with 7. But 12 minutes is a long time in football...I can not believe there wasn't any more scoring. And that the Colts didn't kick that last field goal! I'm sure there was a reason, but I don't care! I'm just happy! Anyway, I wasn't too impressed with the commercials. The Budweiser ones were pretty good, and so were the CareerBuilder.com ones. And I guess the Kevin Federline commercial was kind of funny. But besides that, no great shakes.
Of course there was too much good food, too. Spinach dip and guacamole & chips - yum! I never thought I would eat guacamole, but I love it! And chili and cornbread for dinner, and lots of desserts. So today the crackdown begins. Only healthy diet food in this house for a while. And I have to go back to exercising twice a day. First when Justin takes a nap, and then at the gym later on. It helps that we are having another contest at the gym - we have teams, and whichever team works out the most days by the end of the contest wins. My team won the last contest, and I also lost 5 pounds during it. So I'm glad I have that extra motivation again now. Plus we have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks up in MA, so that's more motivation.
Justin is doing great. He still has a cold, but he is walking all over the place (he tried to run a couple times yesterday, but the momentum was too much and he just kept falling right over). And I finally got him to eat an egg! Hardboiled and mixed in with some plain oatmeal. But he doesn't hate it, so that's good! And yesterday he had a few bites of grilled cheese and ate a vegetable fritter that I made for him. So hopefully we're catching up in the "real food" department. I think I even felt a new tooth coming through this morning - this time it would be one of his top two teeth (he still only has those bottom two).
He loves to say "No" now, also. I try very hard not to say this word to him, but any variation of it is repeated by him anyway. Now he likes to walk over to the electrical outlet (which has those plastic covers on them), look at me, shake his head, touch the outlet, and say "NO".
Now I just have to try to get him to drink from a sippy cup instead of a bottle...

I'm glad you guys made some money on the game. I didn't bet a dime! I won all my money this year on the Chiefs making it to the playoffs. 50 bucks. I'm a lucky guy.

I spent well over a hundred on box pools so winning $60 on a pool that I put $20 into wasn't that satisfying.
