Constantly On The Go!
We have been super busy over the past week! There is so much going on. Last week I went out to dinner with my friends Laurie and Sharee from my old job. It was really great to see them! I also took Justin to Gymboree, and this time there were about 15 kids and 15 parents there, so it was a really busy class. Justin did great though! He actually participated in even more activities than usual. I think these classes are really good for him. We also drove into Brooklyn to meet our cousin Gabriella. She is a couple weeks younger than Justin. It was cute to watch them together. At one point Justin reached out and took a toy out of Gabriella's hand, so I told him to be nice to her and he reached out and petted her head. It was adorable! Also last week I went out to dinner with the Curves women. My cousin Caren is now a member so she joined us as well. It was a really nice night. EH Chick was not in attendance so it was a little more mellow without her. Unfortunately, my Curves is closing! They are merging with another location, but it is not convenient for me to get to, especially during rush hour, which is when I usually go. Apparently it had been up for sale for a while, and then the owner decided to merge with the other location instead. I wish I had known it had been for sale. Even though the business itself only made a very small profit (less than half my salary when I had a job), I did not realize how inexpensive it would have been to have purchased the business. I don't think the current owner really did enough to try to increase membership, and I do think I could have done a better job. It would have been something to at least think seriously about, but it's too late now. Oh well - then it wasn't meant to be!
This past weekend was Ali's baby shower and Aunt Ro & Conrado were in town from IL and Grammy & Grampy were also down for the weekend. We took Justin out to dinner with everyone on Friday night, and he was great! We forgot his whole diaper bag with his dinner in it, so the kitchen whipped him up some chicken and mashed potatoes and broccoli, which he loved. He was out way past his bedtime, but he was so good. The shower on Saturday was really nice, Ali got such great things! Little girls clothes are so adorable. Everyone came over to our house for dinner that night (take-out!). On Sunday Cathy, Jimmy, & Evan came over for a bit. Evan and Justin definitely need to see each other more. Justin did not want to share his soccer ball or basketball with Evan, and if Evan so much as touched one of them, Justin would start screaming! And then Evan would start crying and it was a big cryfest. Justin didn't care about any of his other toys, it was just those two. So we'll have to work on that at some point. I don't think you can really teach them how to share when they are this young. They will see each other again on Wednesday, so that will be good!
I have two more baby showers to attend over the next two weekends, plus a trip to Montana thrown in the mix as well. So it's not going to slow down over here for a while!
Tonight we have a sales guy coming from the place where we order all of our meat from. I am NOT happy with him! The meat is all really good (you order about 6 months worth at a time, and they provide you with a freezer to keep it all in). So because it's so good, that's the reason we're continuing to order. But the guy didn't tell us that even though the freezer is "free", you still have to pay 20% interest on the actual cost of it every month. So he's going to get an earful from me. Not to mention that when he was here the last time, he actually called me "silly" because I didn't want to order something from them that he thought was a good deal. Yeah - I'm not liking this guy very much. But we'll order again because it's so convenient - all of the meat is cleaned and individually packaged, so it's super easy to just defrost just enough for dinner and throw it in the oven or on the grill. And even though it's not quite organic, it's all natural - none of the animals had any hormones or ate food with pesticides or any of that crap.
Well, this post is getting pretty long and Justin needs a bath...
