Due Date

It looks like Julia Morgan will be born on her due date - March 27th! Ali and Tommy are at the hospital right now, but don't expect their little peanut to enter the world until early afternoon tomorrow. I can't wait to meet her!

Today, sadly, we spent the day at a wake in Brooklyn for my Great-Aunt Millie, who passed away late last week. It was Justin's first wake, and he behaved great. Don't get me wrong, he ran around the whole place pulling tissues out of the tissue boxes and throwing them on the floor, but he didn't complain or cry too much, so that's always a good thing.

Of course, whenever family is gathered together, we usually end up going to eat and drink, and there just happened to be a bar/restaurant across the street. Of course, this is Brooklyn we're talking about, and there's a bar/restaurant just about every other business out there. But this place is special, it's where we went the night of Chris's 30th birthday party. Of course, it's been completely redone since then, and was actually really nice (sorry KJR, I did not see any karaoke machine!). So ten of us had some dinner, and Justin slept for a while in his stroller and then had some chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli for dinner.

It was very difficult for Chris to be in a bar for a few hours with my cousins and not have a drink, but he did great! Since today started week 2 on South Beach, we are still in the strict phase and no alcohol is allowed. He also did great avoiding the bread basket, and didn't touch the mashed potatoes on his plate. I was proud. I was proud of me too - while everyone else was eating cheeseburgers and steaks, I had a salad. Mmmm. Yeah, right! :( But it's worth it - in the first week on this diet, I've lost 6 pounds. I'm looking forward to a just as successful second week!

I also stopped back at my old gym on Saturday to do a quick last workout and drop off my cancellation letter. After just one week at the new gym, I could not believe how EASY the old circuit was. It was like a joke! That gym closing is probably the best thing that happened to my diet and workout regimen. The new gym circuit is much more difficult and will hopefully get me into better shape than I am in now.

Well, that's all for tonight. Tomorrow hopefully I'll be able to post a picture of my new niece and Goddaughter!
