18 Month Checkup
He only got one shot, for Hep A, so that was good. No side effects, either.
Right now we're sitting in the kitchen watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Justin loves Mickey! Or "Mow Moo" as he calls it, although he has started saying "mickey" too.
This past week was busy! We had gymboree on Tuesday, which went well, and then Erika and Colin came down from MA to visit for 3 days! It was interesting having another 18-month old in the house, but they did surprisingly well, considering Justin isn't crazy about other kids his age. Every time they woke up, whether from the night or a nap, there was an adjustment period where Justin would be mad, but he'd get over it. As long as we were doing something to keep them preoccupied, it was good. Unfortunately the weather didn't really cooperate, but they were able to play outside, and we took them out to dinner and they were really well behaved! Justin had ice cream for the first time, too! Since he has finally gotten some teeth, it's a lot easier for him to eat "real" food, and we've experimented with chicken fingers and french fries. And donut holes, which he loves (who doesn't??!!).
Tina (our next door neighbor) came to babysit on Friday night and Chris and I went out to dinner with Joe & Sue (my contractor and his wife) to our favorite restaurant and then to the local dive bar in my hometown (I'm sorry Jen, I know we cheated on you and Dave - we have to make plans soon!) This time there was no one there that I recognized. When I turned 21, I went to this bar to celebrate, but as I looked around and saw people that looked to be in their 30s, I swore to myself that I would never be a townie going to this bar when I was that old. And now that I am...well, I just don't know what to say about that! I guess it's not as bad as I thought back in the day. I actually like going there and always have a good time!
Yesterday was a lazy day, and it was beautiful out. Maggie and Pop came by to see Justin, and so did Caren. He took a nice nap, and we spent most of the day outside. We'll probably do the same today!
