So Much To Do...
Here is a picture of Grampy and Justin from Julia's Christening, which took place last Sunday. Chris and I were the Godparents, and Miss Jules was so good during the ceremony! She barely made a peep the whole time, and didn't even cry when she was baptized. Justin was very well behaved at church, although he was crawling all over the altar, which I'm not sure if that's sacreligious or what, but he wasn't mad while I was holding Julia, so that's all that matters!
Afterwards the reception was at Maggie & Pop's house, and it was a really nice day. Justin and Evan got to play together for a little while (although it was more like Evan trying to play with Justin and Justin running away).
It was also 4th of July this week! Unfortunately, it was kind of a rainy day, so we didn't get to see much in terms of fireworks. We went to a bbq at my contractor Joe's house, and he lit off some firecrackers in the backyard. Surprisingly, Justin wasn't upset by the noise, we actually had to hold him back from running right at the fireworks because he liked the lights that they made...and the rest of the afternoon was spent chasing him around the pool and making sure he didn't just dive right in. Once it started raining and we all moved into the house, Justin played in the playroom for a while with Joey, who is 3 1/2 - he did very well with him, which I was very happy about - he just didn't like when Joey tried to hug him - Justin likes his personal space! Pop came to pick him up around 6:30 so that Chris and I could relax a bit and actually leave the playroom and hang out with the adults for awhile.
Today we are getting ready to go away for a week's vacation to Lake Michigan for a family reunion. There is lots to do! I am finishing up getting all of the laundry done, the house is pretty much clean, the basement is just about done, just need to order the carpet, a shower door, and one closet door. Of course, that stuff won't get done today! Today I need to pack. We have never taken Justin on a plane before, and since we're going away for a week, that's going to be a lot of luggage. I'm trying to do one thing at a time so my head doesn't explode when I try to think of everything that needs to get done before we leave in the morning.
I am looking forward to the week though! Justin's Great-Grandma will get to meet him for the first time, which is very exciting. And it will be nice to see the family, since we haven't seen a lot of them in a couple of years.
Have a great weekend and week everyone!
