No Naps!
Things seem to be changing around here - Justin has decided to change up his nap schedule in the afternoon. Or rather, he has decided to barely take naps anymore. I'm not sure how a one and half year old can go from napping 2-3 hours a day to no naps, and still make it through to bedtime without having any major meltdowns. I've still been putting him in his crib for at least an hour, where he sits and plays by himself. Hey, I need that time for my new favorite past-time, since over the last two weeks I have become disgustingly addicted to celebrity gossip and read perezhilton.com regularly throughout the day. What is wrong with me??? Yesterday I brought Justin over to Joe & Sue's house for the afternoon to go swimming with little Joey. He had a great time in the water, and he did very well at the house all afternoon, even with a bunch of other kids there. (When we went there for 4th of July, it took me 15 minutes just to get him up their driveway and into the backyard, so we are definitely making some improvements!) It looks like he is getting more used to being around other children, which is great. And even though he doesn't like it when Joey invades his personal space, he doesn't freak out anymore either, so that's good. He did take a nap once we came home, but not until 3:30, and he slept until 5:30. Luckily this didn't really seem to affect his bedtime much, he was down by 8:30pm. I heard him up playing in his crib very early this morning, so I'm hoping that will help with the nap factor today.
Tomorrow morning we're going to head back to gymboree for an extra class. Then Grammy and Grampy will be here for a few days to watch Justin & Pudge over the weekend while Chris and I go camping with the crew. Sunday once we get home we'll all be heading down to Evan's 2nd birthday party. I can't believe he's 2 already! So it will be a busy and fun weekend. And the weather is supposed to be nice, which is always a plus when we are camping.
Right now Justin and Pudge are both underneath the kitchen table. I am surprised that Pudge just chose to relax right next to where Justin is playing. This seems like a big step forward to me! They still don't interact much, except that Justin loves to grab at Pudge's tail whenever she is wagging it. Which she loves, I'm sure...what dog doesn't love it when a toddler grabs their tail and pulls on it??!
Congratulations to Dave & Laura on the birth of their daughter, Sydney!
