Weekend in Boston

This past weekend we went up to Grammy & Grampy's house in Massaschusetts. Here's a pic of Justin sitting in his firetruck pjs in front of the fireplace (which wasn't on, of course). Look at that mop-top! I haven't brought him to get a "real" haircut yet, although he does get a trim from time to time at Maggie's. It's just that I don't wake up in the morning thinking, "hmm, I'd like this to be a terrible day. Let's try to get a haircut today!" It just doesn't happen. So someday we'll go to the barber shop. Just not today!

On Saturday Chris and I left Justin with his grandparents and we went to Boston for the night. We met up with some friends for dinner, and then walked over to another restaurant and met up with more friends from college - it was like a reunion! It was great hanging out with everyone, and especially Kerri (who was just dying to get a mention in the blog - this is for you, Ker!). After we left the bar, around 1:30AM, she brought us to the North End's version of the Jersey diner - the Italian version. It was packed with people spilling out from the bars, and you could order any kind of Italian food you wanted - we got a meatball calzone, chicken calzone, and mozz sticks. Yummy food at 2 in the morning!

Sunday after sleeping in (10:45 is so late for me!), we got ready and headed back to Grammy & Grampy's. We had lunch/dinner with some family, and they made me a delicious birthday cake! So it was a food-filled weekend, and it was really great.

Justin is amazing - he has a little cold (probably picked up at playgroup). But he is just talking so much and is so smart, I can't get over it. I yawned last week and he looked at me and said "Mommy's tired. Mommy, go take a nap!" I might just be a proud mama but I thought that was a huge concept to string together. My boy is a genius, I tell ya. :)
